The 8-days Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and least crowded routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the western side, it traverses lush rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert, providing diverse landscapes and excellent acclimatization opportunities.

Day By Day

Day 1: Welcome to Kilimanjaro - Your Unforgettable Journey Begins!
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to be greeted by our friendly representative. Enjoy a seamless transfer to your hotel, where you will find all the comforts you need for a delightful stay - from cozy rooms and hot water to a refreshing swimming pool and Internet access. In the evening, our experienced Guide will conduct a comprehensive briefing, ensuring you are fully prepared for the thrilling climb ahead.
Day 2: Traverse Kilimanjaro's Western Slope
Welcoming a new day, our expert guide and dedicated mountain support crew will arrive at your hotel. Embark on a scenic journey by vehicle (roughly 3–4 hours) to Kilimanjaro National Park's western entrance: Londorossi Gate. After acquiring permits and registering with the search and rescue service, you'll continue upwards by off-road vehicles, reaching 3,500 meters (11,482 feet). Witness breathtaking vistas of the magnificent Shira Plateau for the first time. The route to Shira 2 Camp offers moderate altitude gain, allowing for proper acclimatization. Our skilled mountain crew will have everything prepared upon reaching the camp, so you can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Day 3: Conquer the Lava Tower and Barranco Wall
Fuel up with breakfast before departing Shira 2 Camp for an exhilarating hike to Lava Tower. Prepare for ascents and descents, leading to a camp at over 4,600 meters (15,091 feet). Some portions of the trek may challenge you, but these are crucial for successful acclimatization. Spend at least 1–2 hours at Lava Tower, enjoying lunch amidst stunning surroundings. Descend to Barranco Camp, where you will witness the impressive Barranco Wall – an exciting challenge for the next day's ascent.
Day 4: Scale Barranco Wall and Trek to Karanga Camp
Start your day early with a hearty breakfast and set off to conquer the famed Barranco Wall. Beat the crowds by leaving camp early, making your way up the gorge wall in approximately an hour. Capture unforgettable photos with the awe-inspiring Kibo volcano as your backdrop. Afterward, embark on a more challenging hike to Karanga Camp, where our expert guides will ensure an optimal pace for the group. Enjoy a warm lunch before an acclimatization hike towards Barafu Camp with a 300-meter (984- foot) gain in altitude, then return to Karanga Camp for a well-deserved dinner.
Day 5: Prepare for the Summit - Barafu Summit Camp
Morning arrives with a warm breakfast, and your hike to Barafu Summit Camp commences. The camp will be fully set up for you, including tents and sleeping bags, so you can relax upon arrival. Regain your strength and consider an acclimatization hike towards the intermediate Kosovo Summit Camp, followed by a hot dinner at Barafu Camp. Rest well, as the night summit to Uhuru Peak awaits!
Day 6: Conquer Uhuru Peak - An Unforgettable Achievement
Depart from Barafu Camp at night for the final ascent to Kilimanjaro's peak: Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,340ft). The climb may be relatively simple, but at such a high altitude, physical activity can feel strenuous. Our intimate group size ensures you are paired with a personal guide, attentively monitoring your well-being. After reaching the summit, you can even descend to the nearest glacier, adding to the majesty of your triumph. Return to Barafu Camp for a well-deserved rest before continuing your descent to Millennium Camp.
Day 7: Celebrate Your Achievement
Millennium Camp awaits in a lush tropical rainforest, offering relief from the heights and celebrating your summit victory. After a warm breakfast, head to Mweka Gate, the park's exit. Gather with your fellow climbers for heartfelt congratulations and share your journey in the guestbook. Receive your commemorative certificates at our office before a transfer back to your hotel, cherishing the memories of your incredible feat.
Day 8: Reflect and Depart
Take a day of rest at the hotel, cherishing the unforgettable memories of your Kilimanjaro adventure. When it's time, we'll provide a seamless transfer to the airport, bidding farewell to an extraordinary journey. Relish the sense of achievement and carry the spirit of Kilimanjaro in your heart forever!

  • Park Fees: All Park fees collected by Kilimanjaro National Park (conservation fees, camping fees,crew
  • Accommodation one night before and one night after the expedition.
  • For all routes except Marangu: Tented accommodation on Mount Kilimanjaro (modern,comfortable 4-season tents).
  • Special for Marangu route: Accommodation in huts. The allocation of huts is ruled by the rangers of the national park. We will do our best to arrange separate huts for our groups, but during busy months, you are likely to share huts with climbers from other groups.
  • Please note that, by default, you will share a room and a tent with your travel companion. If you travel solo on a group expedition, we will room you with a same-sex participant. Single supplement is available upon request.
  • Breakfast in the hotel before and after the hike.
  • All meals on the hike. You will find delicious, energy-rich meals on our mountain menus. Our professional chefs will prepare assorted soups, garnishes, several types of fish and meat, fresh fruit, and vegetables. Vegetarian/gluten-free/halal options are available at no extra cost.
  • All drinks on the hike (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water).
  • Hiking and safety equipment:
  • 4-inch (10-cm) thick and comfortable sleeping mats.
  • All group equipment (dining tent, table, chairs, crockery, and cutlery).
  • Oxygen cylinders and oximeters.
  • Complete medical kits.
  • Professional guides licensed by Kilimanjaro National Park. All guides are holders of Wilderness
  • First Responder certification. All of them have 5+ years of successful experience.
  • Dedicated support crew (assistant guides, camp master, porters, cooks, etc.).
  • Taxes: 18% VAT, 1% TDL, and 0.3% Service Levy.

Exclude

  • International flights.
  • Tips (250-300 USD per climber for the whole mountain crew).
  • Visa fee (100 USD for American citizens and 50 USD for all others).
  • Personal gear rentals.
  • Lunch and dinner at the hotel (before and after the climb).
  • Portable toilets (if required – 250 USD per unit, one can be shared between 3 people). Portable toilets are not available on the Marangu route.
  • Mountaineering insurance. You’ll need special insurance for climbing Kilimanjaro that covers
